Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Charity (WHH Charity) is inviting you to take on an extraordinary walking challenge this spring to help support patients and their families.

The Giant Walk, a 42km marathon-distance fundraiser from Hale in Merseyside to Hale in Cheshire, will now take place on two dates, Saturday 10 May and Sunday 11 May 2025, following the incredible success of last year’s event. This unique experience promises an unforgettable adventure for walkers of all abilities.

The route, anticipated to take up to 10 hours to complete, starts at Hale lighthouse on the Mersey estuary and showcases breathtaking views along the Manchester Ship and Bridgewater canals, and the charming village of Stockton Heath. The walk concludes at the millennium clock in Hale, Cheshire.

For participants looking for a shorter challenge, the new Stockton half offers the chance to join the route in the afternoon and complete a half marathon.

So lace up your walking boots and join in to raise money for WHH Charity. By taking part, you can help raise funds to improve patients’ experience while in hospital and once you’ve signed up, you can claim your handy fundraising pack filled with ideas to support you.

  • Single walker: £35
  • Team of four: £99
  • Stockton half (includes young persons): £16.96 (including a £1.96 fee)
  • Coach: £20
