A gift in your will can make a lasting difference

Monday 7 September 2026

We’re encouraging people to consider the lasting difference they could make by remembering the charity in their will.

As part of Remember a Charity Week, taking place from 7 to 13 September, we’re sharing stories of people whose generosity has continued to support patients, families and staff long after they have gone.

Gifts left in wills can help Warrington and Halton Hospitals' Charity fund projects, equipment and improvements that go above and beyond NHS funding, supporting hospital and community services across Warrington, Halton and the surrounding areas.

People can choose to leave a gift of any size, with many deciding to remember a charity after making provision for family and loved ones.

Helen Higginson, head of fundraised, said: “Leaving a gift in your will is a very personal decision, but it can be an incredibly meaningful way to support something that has been important to you.

“For many people, our hospitals have played a significant part in their lives. They may have received care themselves, had a loved one treated here or simply want to say thank you to the staff who supported their family.

“A gift to WHH Charity, whatever its size, has the potential to make a lasting difference for future generations of patients, families and staff.”
