Bernard Pendleton, Chairman of The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) North West In Bloom was delighted to present our WHH Charity Garden Volunteers with a Level 5 Outstanding Award. ( The highest grade in the RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood competition).
Bernard visited our garden earlier in the year to judge, and was pleased to meet the volunteers and see first hand the wonderful work that they do to ensure the outdoor space looks beautiful throughout the year.
Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Trust is fortunate to have so many excellent volunteers and those who work on the garden certainly make a difference. Bernard confirmed he will send his written report before the end of the year. But today was about celebrating the "Outstanding" recognition of the wonderful work of the garden volunteers linking with the nursing and support staff on the Forget Me Not Dementia ward to provide a delightful outdoor oasis for patients, staff, volunteers and visitors alike.
Helen Higginson, Head of Fundraising at WHH Charity, said ‘being able to be the link between people and their passion to make a difference is very humbling, we are truly proud of each and every one of our volunteers - but today our appreciation goes to our garden crew whose work has gained the acknowledgement from an iconic institution such as the RHS Britain in Bloom Your Neighbourhood Scheme. thank you’.
