Community and Volunteer Hub - Helen Higginson %28002%29.jpgYour support to the hospital, our patients and our staff is invaluable. Despite being tested in so many ways, our community always comes together and offers its help and support.

Our Community Hub at Warrington Hospital continues to support the community in donating food, toiletries and other comforts to enhance the experience of our patients while in hospital.  

Located in a portacabin off Kendrick wing, but external to the main hospital, the Community Hub is open for drop-offs of a wide range of items at the following times:

Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm

There are so many ways that you can help and our patients and staff need you now more than ever. As a charity we are geared up for helping and supporting those most in need and we want to spread the word about how people can come together and support us in what is a really difficult time for lots of people in our hospitals and our community.

The hub is providing a basic ‘starter-pack’ for patients being discharged home.

Care Packages – Dry goods, store cupboard items, toiletries.

Items in biggest demand are:

  • Non-perishable foods including tea
  • coffee
  • dried milk
  • sugar, biscuits
  • long-life milk
  • tins of soups
  • beans etc
  • toiletries including shower gels, shampoos, hand and body creams, toothpaste and antiperspirants.

To support our patients during long days in hospital we are appealing for a range of resources to help pass the time. 

These include:
Games, magazines, jigsaws (complete sets), puzzle books, writing paper, pens and envelopes, adult colouring books and coloured pencils.

We know how challenging it has been for local businesses over recent weeks and that difficult times lie ahead for many. If you have any surplus stock or items that may be wasted then please get in touch.

Food items, toiletries, flowers, garden items can always be found a good home on one of our sites. Please contact one of the team on 01925 662 666.
 

We are also able to accept donations of new, unused teddies that will be given to bereaved children. These can be donated to the Community Hub or collected by arrangement.

The Community Hub will accept donations 6 days a week if you are happy to drop items off. All contact will be minimised and we are easy to find.  We are located in a portacabin at Kendrick wing, but external to the main hospital, the Community Hub is open 8-4pm Mon-Fri for drop offs of a wide range of items and Saturday morning 9am-2pm.
