On Tuesday 27th February, we held a grand reopening ceremony to reveal the newly refurbished parents room on the children’s ward.
Daniel Crosby from DC Installations, a local kitchen and bathroom installer noticed that the room was in dire need of a makeover after his son, Logan, spent five days on the ward whilst receiving treatment for sepsis.
“We were so well looked after by all the staff on the ward that I wanted to show my appreciation,” said Daniel.
Daniel used some of his contacts at B&Q Warrington to source a donation of the materials required with the revamp consisting of brand new cupboards, tiles, worktop, sink and tap, tables and chairs, whilst JMBC Building Contractors & Cheshire Contract Flooring & Polyflor companies worked alongside our Estates team to provide complimentary flooring and paint work.
“Hopefully this will help make the room more comfortable for parents and possibly take a little pressure off the staff on the ward.”
The reopening was attended by the hospital’s Chief Executive, Mel Pickup, as well as Steve McGuirk – Chairman, Pat McLaren – Director of Community Engagement and Corporate Affairs, Helen Higginson – Charity Manager, Jill Holland – Play Specialist, Dawn Jones – Housekeeper, Lee Bushell – Head of Capital Projects, Daniel Crosby (father), John Matlew – JMBC Building Contractor, Dave Hunt – Cheshire Flooring and David Riley – Polyflor Flooring.
