Specsavers Neonatal Abseil

By March 31, 2016News

Chris Graham and colleagues from Specsavers in Runcorn and Warrington took part in a sponsored 52ft abseil down the side of Warrington Hospital’s Education Centre on Sunday 26th October 2014.

Chris pledged to buy new ventilators and monitors for the Neonatal unit where his daughter, Sophia was treated after she was born in September 2013. Sophia needed urgent care after she suddenly went blue and lifeless whilst feeding for the first time to which doctors think she contracted an infection during labour and had to be put on a drip of antibiotics and in an incubator on oxygen for 36 hours.

Dad Chris, aged 31, director of Specsavers store in Runcorn Shopping Centre, kicked off the campaign in May 2014 with a £500 donation.
“It was a really great event with over 50 people taking part on the day. Some found the experience challenging with the crowd and staff providing great support. We managed to raise approximately £5000 for the Neonatal on the day.”
