70 NOT OUT

2018 marks the 70th celebration of the founding of both the NHS and Soroptimist International of Runcorn & Frodsham District.

The Club has celebrated its 70th Anniversary by making 70 mastectomy cushions for breast cancer patients in Halton and Chester hospitals. The post-surgery cushions provide not only comfort, but great support at a very stressful time in patients’ lives. Pictured with some of the Club members is Sophie Ecclestone, spin bowler in the England Women’s Cricket Team and one of the winners of the BBC Sports Personality Team Award 2017.

Soroptimist focuses on transforming the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and globally, through their project work and make a difference to the lives of more than half a million people in the world every year.  The Runcorn, Frodsham & District Club meet monthly at Castle Park Arts Centre and Runcorn Golf Club.

The group have also pledge to further fundraising at their 70 Tea Party in July!
