An incredibly thoughtful young man

Charlie Dearing, age 4, not only has he such an amazing and beyond his year’s outlook on life he loves helping others, plus he is certainly not afraid of a challenge!

On Friday 27th October, Charlie and his family walked four miles up and around Dinas Bran Castle in Llangollen, North Wales. Charlie told Helen, WHH Charity Manager “I walked one mile for each year of my life”, raising funds for the hospital’s Delivering The Future project, which seeks to revamp the maternity and neonatal wards at Warrington.

Charlie’s story

“I was born a healthy little boy on 24th June 2013 but just 26 hours later I was fighting for my life on the neonatal ward at Warrington Hospital as a I had contracted a life threatening infection. After a very difficult week where I underwent many medical procedures including lumbar punctures and IV antibiotics, I showed I was a little fighter and was allowed to go home.”

Charlie is now a bright, active little boy who attends Callands Community Primary School. He lives in Great Sankey with his Mummy and Daddy, Kathryn and Ben.
